Library Card

Library cards are issued at no charge to those who present identification complete with current address. A person of any age may apply for a card. Children under 14 must have a parent present to sign the application when applying for a card.

Replacement Card

A $1.50 fee will be charged for replacement of damaged, lost, or stolen cards.

Catalog Access

You may access the Library's Catalog through the web site home page. Then follow these instructions:

  • Click Catalog link to the left on the Home page.

  • Then click

At this point you may browse our catalog just as you would in the library at the OPAC station. If you wish to have access to your account, you must come into the library for the form to assign a password to your account. The form is MANDATORY and no passwords will be accepted on the phone. Please allow 2 working days for your password to process. Once your password is submitted, we do not have access to it at the Library. If you forget your password you must come in and resubmit your password request. If you have submitted your password follow these steps.

  • Click Catalog link to the left on the Home page.

  • Then click

  • Click Login at top right of page.

  • Your user name is ONLY the numerical portion of your library card. Ex: If your card # is P8987, your user name is 8987.

  • Enter your password exactly as you stated on the password request form.

The Catalog feature is unavailable from 2:00 am-3:00am.

 

Internet Access

Computers and printers are available for Internet use as well as window based programs such as word processing and spreadsheets. Please remember to sign in at the front desk. You may also bring in your own laptop as the library

Fines

  • Video/DVD fines are $1.00 per working day per video.

  • Book, magazine and audio materials' fines are $.05 per working day per book and/or magazine. Overdue materials and fines must be cleared before additional materials can be checked out.

  • A $1.00 fee will be charged for damaged bar codes.

  • Anyone with outstanding fines will forfeit all library privileges including computer use.

Loan Periods & Limitations

  • The loan period for books & audio books is two (2) weeks. Patrons are limited to five (5) books per person, renewable once.

  • The loan period for videos is 3 days. Each family/address is limited to 2 videos, renewable once.

  • The loan period for magazines is one week (7 days).

For your convenience, a night-drop is located on the north wall of the building.

Interlibrary Loans (ILL)

The Friench Simpson Memorial Library participates in the Interlibrary Loan program in order to provide materials to our library patrons that are not found in our collection.Any patron who has a valid Friench Simpson Memorial Library card and is in good standing may order materials via ILL. Meeting Room

We welcome the public use of its Campbell Conference room for events, lectures, and other gatherings. Please visit the library for a complete policy and form for the use of the meeting room.
